Richmond Animal Welfare Foundation

Richmond Animal Welfare Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides resources to Richmond Animal Care & Control (RACC) to help increase adoptions and improve the quality of life of pets in its care. The Foundation was established in 2005 after a study conducted by the Human Society of the United States (HSUS) determined Richmond Animal Care & Control may see an increase in animals when the Richmond SPCA became a limited admission/no-kill facility. RACC is the only open admission animal shelter in the city servicing over 3,000 animals per year that need immediate care. Today, RAWF supports the costs of critical emergency care and a part time trainer/behaviorist.
