The City of Richmond Department of Public Works(DPW) is a core municipal agency with more than 400 employees and a $47 million operating budget. It serves a community of more than 200,000 residents.
The Department operates under the auspices of Public Works Director, Dexter White. He joined the City of Richmond in April 2008.

Through accreditation, we can demonstrate that we are among the best public works organizations in the world. Richmond's Department of Public Works was only the 28th in the Nation and 2nd in Virginia to receive this recognition.
