The City of Richmond offers two dental benefit plans through Delta Dental of Virginia:

• DeltaCare. – Dental Health Maintenance Organization (DHMO)
• Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier

Eligibility

Employees retiring from active service are eligible to enroll in the dental insurance plans. In addition, deferred retirees who retired prior to July 1, 1995 are also eligible to enroll.

Plan Highlights:

1. DeltaCare

• Network dentists must be used
• No claim forms to complete in most cases
• No deductibles or annual maximums
• You know the exact cost prior to treatment
• $0 copayment on cleaning, exams and x-rays if they are performed by a General Practitioner (GP)

2. Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier

• Co-payments are 20% or 50% depending on the service
• $1,000 maximum calendar year benefit
• Go to any dentist you wish
• Change dentists at any time
• Go to a specialist of your choice without pre-approval
