The mission of the Department of Justice Services is to promote a safe and healthy City, break negative cycles and encourage education through a continuum of services that empowers all participants to achieve measurable success.

The goals of the agency are to:

  • Hold offenders accountable for criminal behavior with appropriate sanctions that fit the severity of the offense
  • Meet assessed needs of at-risk youth and families by providing a diverse range of services
  • Retain offenders in the community by providing them with community based services while simultaneously increasing community safety and education
