Officer of the Month

If you’re looking for a productive police officer, look no further than Officer Henning. He is one of the – if not the most productive midnight shift officer in the entire 4th Precinct.

For example - his nomination credits him with 82 FIRs of 140 different people in the first 11 months of the year – and that’s on midnight shift – where he ranks 1st in 413 and first in 4the overall – among midnight-shift officers.

Overall his numbers for November were stellar – but perhaps the most notable number was three – for the three weapons he seized that month.

In the middle of the month, he responded to a shooting in Oregon Hill – and was able to subdue the mentally ill shooter without any additional shots being fired. He made the arrest and seized two firearms.

Three days later, Officer Henning was responding to a report of random gunfire in Jackson Ward – spotting a group of young men and started patting them down. The last man bolted. Officer Henning gave chase – arrested him – retraced his steps and found a firearm – the third one.

As his nomination says, “What’s most impressive about Officer Henning is his overall mastery of police work. He is a great asset to the Richmond Police Department.”

No argument there. Congratulations to Officer Aaron Henning, our Department’s Officer of the Month for November!
