Crime Stoppers is asking for information about a shooting in Richmond that resulted in an injured child and the murder of an adult.

At approximately 10:21 in the evening of September 9, Richmond Police were called to the 3200 block of 5th Avenue for a report of a person shot. They quickly located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, a 57 year old male and a 9 year old female.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital. The female victim has since been released. The adult died from his injuries on September 11. Investigators have determined that three males were on foot in the block when they opened fire on a house with a number of children on the porch, striking the 9 year old girl. As the shooters fled the scene, the male was shot as he rode his bike down Pollock St. The three suspects then got into a small dark-colored sedan and left the area.

A few hours before the shooting, there was a fight between teenagers that took place in the 3200 block of 5th Ave. Investigators believe the fight is related to the shooting. The adult victim was a lifelong resident of Richmond and worked for 30 years at a local restaurant. He had just returned home from work on his bike when he was killed.
