Extending the season with a natural gas pool or spa heater helps you make the most of your pool or spa. They heat water quickly and economically. Automatic thermostats and timers enable you to manage usage as you need it, maintaining a constant temperature or only igniting as needed. Consider a heater with stainless steel burners for greater reliability and longer life. Choose a standard electronic ignition system that activates the pilot light only when necessary or a millivolt ignition for safety and matchless ignition.

Outdoor spas and pools are a sizeable investment; don't choose a smaller heater on initial costs alone. A larger heater may be more economical as it doesn't have to work as long or hard to heat the same size pool or spa as a small heater does.

Pool and spa heaters are built to be low maintenance, but it's always a good idea to protect your heater from the elements as much as possible.

A natural gas pool heater operates for about HALF the cost of a propane heater without a large propane tank cluttering up the backyard and warms the water in your pool 5 to 7 times faster than an electric pool heater. A pool heater operates similarly to the gas water heater that you have in your home. The unit could be placed in the yard or in a filter house near the pool. Temperature is adjustable by turning the control knob on the side of the heater. This controls the temperature of the water returning to the pool from the filter and heater equipment. The heater is installed in your water filtering line just after the filter unit. The natural gas is supplied from the same house lines that provide service to the natural gas appliances in your home.

Models are available in different heating capacities from 70,000 BTU/hour to over 450,000 BTU/hour to match the size of your pool.

To help keep pool and spa heating costs lower, shop for a heater that is as close to 100% efficiency as possible.
