Project Clean Move is a collaborative effort designed to educate landlords, tenants and parents on how best to plan the movement of students as
they leave their dorms and off-campus housing and to provide information on resources that are available to assist. The goal is to keep Richmond
neighborhoods as clean and safe as possible during the transition between semesters, because illegal dumping and permitting trash to accumulate violate
City codes.
The Department of Public Works places four large roll-off dumpsters in areas throughout the Fan for Virginia Commonwealth University students to
discard unwanted items, such as furniture and clothing. But there are other agencies that may be able to make use of some of the items and unexpired
canned goods. The dumpsters are put out for six week intervals, beginning in late April and again in late
July.
The dumpsters will be located at:
- Northwest corner of Grace St. and Mulberry on Mulberry
- Southwest corner of Ryland and Grace on Ryland
- Northwest corner of Morris and Grove on Morris
- Northwest corner of Morris and Cary on Morris
