The city of Richmond is studying the Mayo Bridge and Manchester Canal Bridge.

Study Purpose

The Mayo Bridge and Manchester Canal Bridge, both built in the early 1900's, not only connect downtown Richmond to the Richmond section of Manchester but also transports the U.S. Route 360 corridor across the James River making Mayo Bridge part of the National Highway System. The purpose of this study is to determine if the Mayo Bridge and Manchester Canal Bridge structures are to be rehabilitated or replaced.

Study Limits

The study area stretches from 2nd Street, on the south side of the James River, to Dock Street, on the north side of the river.
