CSO Regulator Outfall #12

The CSO Regulator Outfall #12 is complete. The City of Richmond used Recovery Act funds to complete the Solids and Floatable Control Project for Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Outfall Number 012 (Special Order Requirement Number 10). This project constructed a solids and floatable control regulator on existing CSO outfall pipe, which will improve the aesthetic quality of the discharge into Almond Creek by providing retention of solids and floatables during wet weather overflow events. Solids and floatables that do not readily pass into the sewer main to the treatment plant during high flow will be held in the concrete retention structure by underflow baffles and bar screens until the CSO event has subsided, and then they will be transported to the wastewater treatment plant with the dry weather flow. $781,393 in Recovery Act funds were used to complete this project.
