31st Street Water Main Replacement

The 31st Street Water Main Replacement project is complete. The City of Richmond used Recovery Act funds to replace an aged 16-inch cast iron water main that was installed in 1900 and had deteriorated. The replacement included 3,300 feet of 16-inch water main. The replacement will mitigate the potential for future failure and damage to the surrounding property and infrastructure. Additionally, the project will provide adequate fire flow capacity in the commercial corridor along Nine Mile Road. $377,521 in Recovery Act funds were used to complete this project.
