The Richmond City Charter Review Commission was established on July 28, 2008, by a Richmond City Council Resolution. The Commission will assist Richmond citizens with a comprehensive review of the Richmond City Charter in order to identify and correct potential conflicts and ambiguities in the present Charter following the City’s change from a Council-Manager to a Mayor-Council form of government in 2004.
The work of the Commission will take place from October 2008 through completion. A tentative deadline of October 1, 2009 has been chosen by the Commission for completion of their review.
