Director of Procurement Services
Mr. Eric R. Mens joined the City of Richmond as the Director of Procurement Services on January 2, 2007. Prior to joining the City, he had retired from the Department of Defense (DOD) with 33 years of service. At the time of his retirement in 2004, Mr. Mens served as the Deputy Director, Acquisition and Personnel Security Investigations Augmentation Division, Defense Security Service, Linthicum, MD.
Mr. Mens began his Government career in September 1974, as a Supply Clerk, GS-2005-04, with the U.S. Government Printing Office. His procurement career began with the Defense Supply Service-Washington, located at the Pentagon, in 1976. Subsequently, he served several years with the Defense Energy Support Center, Defense Logistics Agency, in contracting, pricing, and policy functions. (more)
