e-Cycle Your Old Electronics
Various parts of popular electronic devices may contain dangerous heavy metals, including lead, silver, barium, cadmium, chromium and mercury. The City of Richmond, in collaboration with Central Virginia Waste Management Authority, typically holds e-recycling collection events twice a year. Please stay tuned for information on future City of Richmond sponsored events or visit the CVWMA web site for more information.
Richmond residents as well as those from other localities in the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority region are welcome to bring their unwanted electronics. There is no charge for most items, such as CPUs, printers, keyboards, speakers, wires, cables, telephones, and stereos. Recycling computer monitors and televisions costs $5 each. Wood-encased console televisions cost $10 each.
