Richmond Recycles
Love your mother! Mother Earth, that is. We'll take your recyclables every other week if you set them out at the curb.
Now here's the rules:
- No Need to Separate - the following items can be mixed all together in your recycling bin.
- newspapers
- mixed paper
- aluminum cans, steel cans, aluminum foil, glass bottles and jars, narrow neck plastic bottles #1 & #2, (such as milk, soap, shampoo & detergent bottles)
- Throw your lids in the trash.
- We serve residential customers in single-family, duplex, and fourplexes. Sorry, no apartment complexes.
Do I have to use a green bin or can I use any kind?
Use any kind of bin you want - just put it out!
Why didn't they take my boxes?
You need to break down your cardboard boxes so we can put them in the truck.
It's raining. I don't want everything to get wet. Should I wait another TWO weeks?
No problem. Wet, dry...all the same to us. Put 'em out!
Why don't you take plastic bags?
We don't have a market. Speaking of markets, bring them to your grocery store. Most accept them gladly.
I live in an apartment complex. What can I do?
Use these drop-off recycling sites. They take everything just as curbside.
- Stratford Hills Shopping Center, near Hathaway Road and Forest Hill Avenue.
- East Richmond Road Landfill, 3800 East Richmond Road.
- Richmond Southside Transfer Station, 3506 Hopkins Road
- DMV Drive and Leigh Street Parking Lot
