City Planning Commission
| Purpose and Duties |
|
The City
Planning Commission's duties include development of a Master Plan and
comprehensive zoning plan, review planning and development proposals, and make
professional recommendations to City Council regarding these matters. Some of
the other items subject to consideration include:

| Membership Composition |
|
| The Planning Commission is comprised of nine members appointed by City Council;
including six citizens from planning and development related professions, a
City Council representative, a Board of Zoning Appeals member, and the City
Manager. Each citizen member serves a three-year term, with the possibility of
serving a maximum of two terms. Members representing the BZA and City Council
are appointed for terms coincident with their term on their respective Board or
Council.

| Meeting Information |
|
| Meetings are generally held the first and third Mondays of each month at 1:30
p.m. in the 5th floor conference room of City Hall. However, some meeting dates
may change because of an unusually heavy caseload or when the regular meeting
date falls on a holiday. The meeting location may also change as needed to
accommodate large crowds.
