In 2008, the Richmond Firefighters Beat the Heat 5K Scholarship Fund was formed with the support of the Richmond Firefighters Peer Fitness Trainers and the Richmond Firefighters Foundation. The Fund provides scholarships to students enrolled in an accredited college, university, vocational, or technical school who are dependants of any current sworn Richmond Firefighter or Firefighter who has died in the line of duty.


The 2009 race will start in front of the Carrillon. Each participant will receive a T-shirt. Awards will be given in 10 year age groups. Click here to see the running route.
