WELLNESS PROGRAM
Human Resources and the Health Department are sponsors of the City's
wellness program. One component of the program called Passport to Wellness
is an incentive program that links good health with utilization of sick leave
and rewards. The goals of the program are to promote healthy lifestyles;
mitigate future health care costs; provide incentives to encourage employees to
lead more active, healthier lives; and encourage essential utilization of sick
leave.
Ten key health and fitness standards are used to measure each employee's
relative fitness. A 100-point system forms the basis for measurement. Employees
attaining an annual score of atleast 70 are eligible to redeem a designated
number of hours of sick leave based on years of service and their Passport
score.
