The Jesse Reynolds Award is presented to groups and/or individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the City of Richmond in the areas of recreation, parks or community facilities. The annual award is named for the city’s first Recreation and Parks director.
The Jesse Reynolds award will recognize those who have made a significant impact through philanthropic contributions, volunteerism and community mobilization efforts. Recipients receive recognition and the award at a ceremony in July 2009, National Recreation and Parks month.
An independent panel chosen from the advisory board of the city’s Recreation, Parks and Community Facilities department will select the winner(s). Each winner(s) will receive a certificate of achievement and a tree planted at one of the city’s recreation centers, parks or facilities in his or her honor.
Nominations are due June 30, 2009.
