During the month of November, Officer Michael Eldridge of Sector 212
• Arrested a three-time convicted felon for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon,
• Responded to or assisted with 246 radio calls, and
• Made two felony arrests and 20 misdemeanor arrests.
Although Sector 212 Officer Michael Eldridge is fairly new to the Department, he already is familiar with his sector. He knows the business owners and areas of concern for the citizens.
Eldridge’s fresh and energetic approach to policing also makes him a proactive officer. It also has made him the Department’s Officer of the Month for November.
Twice in two days he was called to the same address on Snead Road. On Nov. 11 he responded to assist with a suspicious party. On Nov. 12 he responded for a vice offense. Several individuals were stopped by complex security for trespassing.
Further investigation by Eldridge on both calls to Snead Road resulted in arrests. The suspect in the Nov. 11 incident was arrested for multiple offenses, including possession of cocaine, trespassing, and resisting arrest.
Eldridge is known for his “dedication to duty and attention to detail,” according to Sgt. Jeremy Sayles, who nominated Eldridge. Sayles also describes him as “an energetic, industrious, and conscientious officer.”
The November Officers of the Month for their respective precincts are Officer Chad Collins, First Precinct; Officer Stacy Rogers, Third Precinct; and Officer Jake Crawford, Fourth Precinct.
