| How to Request New
Service |
Service Turned On - If you would like gas or water service turned on,
please call DPU at 644-3000 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, preferably three to
five days before service is needed. New Gas Service – If you are building a new home or business and would
like to use natural gas or if you are converting your current appliances to use natural gas, please call our
New Services Team at 646-5250.
New Streetlights - If your city street requires an additional light, call
646-8555 to request an application.
Arrange to be at the the service location on the scheduled date and time
for service installation. Customer service personnel can alert you to
an arrival time within 30 minutes on your scheduled date of service. |
| Reporting Emergency
and Lighting Problems |
Call our 24-hour emergency number 644-3000 for the following emergencies
or problems:
If you smell a strong, persistent gas odor, immediately go to a telephone
outside the home or building and call. We respond to the site of a reported
leak within 30 minutes.
If you have a major water leak in your home or you notice a water main leak/break
in the street.
If there is a sewer backup in your home or a broken sewer line in the street.
If you see a streetlight that is out, or are aware of any other streetlight
problems.

Hearing Impaired |
The Department of Public Utilities maintains TDD (Telecommunications Devices
for the Deaf) at its Customer Service Call Center to make communication
for our hearing impaired customers easier. For customer account information,
call Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. TDD 1-800-855-1155. For gas,
water, sewer and streetlight emergencies, call our 24-hour emergency number,
TDD 1-800-855-1155.
