Medical Services
Unit

The
Medical Services Unit’s primary purpose and
responsibility is to assure that every resident of the
Richmond City Jail has the opportunity to receive
adequate and professional health care. If Residents do
not choose to use the services of the RCSO Medical
Services Unit, they have the right to secure a private
physician or dentist of their choice to come and provide
treatment here at our facility at the resident’s
expense.
The
medical team consists of a Chief Physician, Dentist, Eye
Doctor and Psychologist. It also includes a staff of
21, which includes five security deputies.
We are
looking forward to adding more nurses to our team.
