Correctional Health Assistants for the Sheriff's Office perform a variety of medical related duties such as:

  • Perform treatments, medical procedures as directed by the physician, injections and phlebotomy duties
  • Perform history and physicals on all inmates upon commitment to the Richmond City Jail
  • Conduct sick call daily to evaluate those offenders in need of medical assistance
  • Respond to all medical emergencies and provide necessary medical treatment
  • Dispensing of medications at scheduled times
  • Provide detailed written reports and records management
