Court Services
Court Services provides a safe and secure environment for the general public, courthouse employees, and inmates entrusted to our care, while providing both courthouse and courtroom security. In August and September, City Prosecutors will seek Beginning in the Spring Court Services had a lead role in intensive logistical, security, and transportation planning for the August and September capital murder trials for Gray and Dandridge.


Civil Process

Civil Process provides timely notice to persons or legal entities of pending legal action. The notice may be in the form of a variety of legal documents, and must be served in accordance with the law. Some of the legal notices are capias, detinue summons/warrant, fieri-facias (writ), garnishment summons, jail summons, jury summons, show cause summons, witness summons, and protective orders to name a few.
Performing civil process services presents a large challenge. Sheriff Woody saved the City between $2,000 - $3000 monthly in reimbursed mileage, at .44 cents per mile, after discontinuing civil process documents being served in deputies’ personal vehicles. Now, deputies solely use RCSO vehicles for civil process.
