Investigative Division
The Investigative Division fairly and impartially handles all investigations concerning criminal or administrative incidents involving employees, inmates and citizens, while earning public trust with professional and efficient operations. Given Sheriff Woody's commitment to improving Jail security measures, this Division was revamped and elevated by placing a Major in charge of new security efforts that include placing metal detection devices at the Jail's main entrances, instituting random employee searches, visitor screening, securing a K-9 deputy, along with securing closed-circuit surveillance cameras in key areas of the Jail.

Division responsibilities include:
* Deadbeat Parent Taskforce

* Criminal & Administrative investigations
* Capias/ Fugitive Unit
* High Risk Witness/Prisoner Protection Transport Team
* Evidence Storage
* Issue and inventory all Firearms and Chemical agents
* Maintain personal weapons records
* Receive and serve all legal process for employees and inmates

This division transports and protects high risk prisoners/witnesses and serves as security during high risk trials such as those of Ricky Javon Gray and Ray Joseph Dandridge who face multiple murder charges.  As of June 30, both inmates have been transported a total of 14 times by this special unit without incident.

Closed Circuit Camera System to Increase Jail Security
By late August 2006, a newly installed closed-circuit camera system will increase Jail security while monitoring and recording key locations around the premises. Work is underway to complete installation of a closed circuit camera system with the capabilities to monitor and record all interviews in IAD and other key internal and external locations.
