The Richmond City Sheriff's Office is responsible for maintaining a secure jail and a safe court system, along with seamless inmate transport and civil process to preserve public safety.

 I.         Restoring Community Confidence by ensuring a safe environment and collaborating with the Richmond Police Department and other local, state and federal partners and execute best practices in law enforcement.

II.       Lowering Recidivism by partnering with faith-based and community-based organizations and implementing meaningful in-house programs to ease overcrowding and release more productive ex-offenders back into the community.

III.      Enhancing Training for new and existing deputies and ensuring the highest professional competencies.

IV.   Maximizing Resources by developing fiscally responsible, short and long-term budgetary goals, finding alternative funding sources, and applying for more grants.
