FAMIS bridges gap for family medical insurance
Everybody wants their kids to be healthy. One way to keep them healthy
is making sure they get medical care. Children who get good medical care have
a better chance of being healthy -- and doing well in school. Families also have
better lives when the children are healthy. The Family Access to Medical Insurance
Security (FAMIS) program was created to meet the health care needs of Virginia's
uninsured children up to age 19 in working families that earn too much to qualify
for Medicaid, but not enough to afford private health insurance. To find out more
