Spring is back and so is the 17th Street Farmers' Market!

The early morning weather is cool and crisp, anxiously awaiting the sun's rays to slowly warm the ensuing day. The smell of freshly baked bread on the breeze makes mouths water whether hungry or not. In the background, an early morning train squeals its wheels against the trestle outside Main Street Station.

Gently dancing blossoms sway delicately on winds that mingle through tree branches.
Tiny, determined sproutlings break through topsoil with bright greens boldly declaring their arrival. Vibrant shades of sunshine-yellow decorate daffodil bouquets, highlighted by lusciously rich violet daisies. Throw in the melodic chirps of the tiny neighborhood birds, and you have the announcement that the Bottom is waking up to Spring once again.

Exiting hibernation, people begin venturing out to enjoy warmer, longer days and everything that springtime in Richmond has to offer. Energy is rekindled and life once again returns to days in the Bottom as the Market opens for its new 2008 season. To vendors and customers alike, both old and new, we say "Welcome Back!"
