News & Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities


Neighbor-to-Neighbor (N2N) recruits volunteers of all ages, races, ethnicities, genders, and faith persuasions who reside in the great City of Richmond, leveraging service as a strategy to “Build the Best Richmond."


The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) would like to invite you to the 12th edition of the Imagine Festival, a family and community festival that will take place on Saturday, October 15, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. at Broad Rock Park (Sports Complex), 4825 Old Warwick Road (Broad Rock Boulevard at Warwick Road). The Imagine Festival started as an one of the prevention initiatives under Richmond’s Gang Reduction and Intervention Program (GRIP). The purpose of the event is to showcase the City programs and community services, providing an opportunity for families to interact with service staff and gain an understanding of how the community may access and benefit from the services they provide. The event will also provide an opportunity to bring area families together for a cultural exchange of the many ethnic groups which comprise this great community. The Imagine Festival celebrates Richmond’s cultural diversity by encouraging residents to share and experience various cultures together come and enjoy this year’s event, meet their neighbors, and learn about our diverse cultures.

This year’s festival will feature many great performances, cultural foods, exhibits, arts & crafts, and fun activities for the entire family. Approximately 15 local community groups will perform throughout the day and approximately 40 area organizations will be providing information about their services, to include free health screenings through the Una Vida Sana program, screenings through the Richmond City Health District, and a variety of sports, such as soccer and softball. Admission to this community and family event is free.
