During the month of April, Officer Michael Ahnstrom of Sector 111
• Was very productive, making 59 arrests,
• Performed 33 hours of alternative patrol, and
• Continued to excel in traffic enforcement.
Sector 111 Officer Michael Ahnstrom’s hard work and dedication makes First Precinct, and the city as a whole, safer.
Ahnstrom is an extremely hard working and goal oriented officer. He works hard throughout his entire shift and that dedication is reflected in his results. Ahnstrom’s high arrest numbers is not an anomaly. He leads the sector in arrests almost every month. April adds two felony arrests and twenty misdemeanor arrests to his excellent totals.
Ahnstrom follows up on tips like almost no other officer. Last month on one such occasion he located an offender wanted for a sexual assault and served the warrant, removing a dangerous person from the street.
Ahnstrom responded to a call for an aggravated assault and conducted a thorough investigation. He located the offender and after questioning the offender confessed to Ahnstrom, leading to charges being filed.
Ahnstrom’s efforts to keep crime low in First Precinct bring results. He issued 8 summonses, 29 warrants and produced 16 incident reports in April. He is passionate about traffic safety and makes many traffic stops per month. He has often discovered illicit drugs and materials during the stops. His efforts have made Michael Ahnstrom the Department’s Officer of the Month for April.
