Department Officer of the Month -- September 2005
Richmond Police Department
Officer of the Month    Officer Sarah Campbell

On Sept. 28 Officer Sarah Campbell answered a call for a missing child. After interviewing the parents, caregiver, and neighbors Campbell had reason to believe the child might be on the property and initiated a search of the backyard. The body of 10-month-old Kiyah was found in her baby seat.
“If Officer Campbell did not go the extra step with this investigation, it is unclear when the baby would have been found,” said Lt. Charles Sipple of the First Precinct.
“This was a very tragic, emotional, and sad incident,” continued Sipple,”Officer Campbell handled it with professionalism and respect for all those involved.”
During the month of September Campbell responded to 155 radio calls and assisted on another 57 calls. She completed 17 IBR reports, made three OVM’s, and executed two warrants. Campbell also recovered one stolen car and recovered two guns.
