Officer Gray received information there was drug activity at a residence on Seminary Avenue. He conducted a knock and talk, which led to a search warrant. The search uncovered four on-view felonies and crack cocaine inside the residence. Gray’s follow- up investigation revealed three more on- view felonies and another stash of crack cocaine.
To combat the prostitution problem on Chamberlayne, Officer Gray coordinated with the Edgehill Civic Association, Media Relations, and SID. He orchestrated a media blitz to get word out about the new Target Enforcement Zones. The story was covered by the local television and radio stations as well as several print publications.
Officer Gray’s ability to connect on a much more personal level is evident in a letter received by Chief Rodney D. Monroe. A resident of Ginter Park wrote to commend Gray for his insight and professionalism when dealing with individuals in his sector.
Gray also has received several thank you letters from citizens who were grateful for his work on B & E cases in their neighborhoods.
For these actions, David Gray is named Department Officer of the Month.
