Department Sergeant of the Month -- July 2008
Richmond Police Department
Sergeant of the Month    During the month of July, Fourth Precinct Sgt. Michael A.D. Talley
   • Seized nine guns during the Firearms and Fugitives Initiative,
   • Taught crime prevention and safety during summer programs to more than 200 children at Martin Luther King Middle and Broad Rock Elementary,
   • Selected by Virginia Attorney General’s Office as a facilitator for Camp Class Action, which will serve about 100 youths from Southwood and Gilpin Court.
The night of July 16 was a busy one for Sgt. Talley, who handled several critical incidents. He assisted with a suicidal mental subject, a sexual assault on a juvenile, and a report for an abducted juvenile from Buckingham County.
Upon successful resolution of the incident with the mental subject, Talley responded to the abduction call and helped arrest the offender who had the juvenile. Talley also collected evidence tying the offender to the crime.
