Department Sergeant of the Month -- June 2008

The Department introduces its Sergeant of the Month Program. This award is designed to recognize the first-line supervisors for their contributions to the community at large.
The first recipient of the award is First Precinct Sgt. Victor Greene. He has become the evening shift supervisor that officers seek out to assist with day-to-day issues.
During the month of June, Sgt. Greene
- Organized, assigned, and worked two special patrols on Belle Isle, resulting in approximately 49 arrests
- Rode his bike with an officer on directed patrol in Church Hill
- Organized walks with officers in areas that are experiencing an increase in violent and property crimes
- Assisted with a prostitution sting that covered problem areas in First, Second, and Fourth Precincts to teach officers the foundation of earning convictions in prostitution cases
