During the month of June, Second Precinct Sgt. Faith Flippo
• Organized and supervised four traffic checkpoints,
• Coordinated a prostitution operation and
• Assisted with the Department’s presentation for the District 8 Town Hall Meeting.
In almost two years in her role as Sgt. Flippo has proven herself as a First Line Supervisor.
From directing initiatives to her community involvement, Flippo has demonstrated her vested interest in the success of Second Precinct and the Department as a whole.
Community concerns prompted Flippo to focus last month on the Jefferson Davis Highway and Hull Street corridors, two main thoroughfares in Second Precinct. She organized and supervised four traffic checkpoints along these roadways, resulting in the following arrests:
• Two felonies
• Twenty misdemeanors
• Nineteen summonses and
• One DUI.
Flippo also coordinated four prostitution operations along Jeff Davis and Hull that resulted in:
• Thirty-two misdemeanor arrests
• One felony narcotics arrest and
• The arrest of a suspect in a May homicide in Sector 213.
As a direct result of these two initiatives, Sector 213’s violent crime was greatly reduced in June and the quality of life in the area has improved, as noted with the thanks expressed by citizens in the community.
Although she is a patrol sergeant, Flippo finds time to assist with many administrative tasks at Second Precinct, including payroll and special assignments for patrol officers.
In addition to her work for Second Precinct and its community, Flippo also assisted with building the Department’s community by working with the recruits at the Training Academy.
