The Circuit Court in the John Marshall Courts Building handles requests for deeds. The building is located at 400 North 9th Street. The records are located in the Circuit Court record room, Room LL4, in the basement. For more information, please call (804) 646-6530.
Digging
Before beginning any outdoor project that involves digging, please call "Miss Utility" at 811 to ensure your project will not cut into an underground utility line, causing a potentially serious accident. Miss Utility will mark all of the utility lines.
Before digging in public streets or roadways, a "Work in the Streets Permit" must be filed. Applications are available in Room 110 of City Hall. Bring a drawing of the improvements with the application. Fees for the permits range from $20 to $100. Some work may require City Council approval as an encroachment. Dogwood Dell
Dogwood Dell is a City owned and operated open-air performance center. The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Facilities manages this facility and plans the public events.
