False Alarms
For alarms systems used for protection of real property (houses or businesses) that are capable of causing notice of the alarm to the police, fire, or other emergency service departments, the property owner or alarm user must provide a list of who may be notified to respond to a request to deactivate such alarm systems if requested to do so by the responding city agency. Alarm owners/users are required to keep their alarms serviced. During a 180 day period, if a false alarm results in more than one response by police, fire, or other emergency service departments, the alarm owner/use will be fined.

Food Sales
A health permit, business license, and other vendor requirements must be met before a citizen can sell food in the City of Richmond. Being issued a business license in the first step. Contact the Finance Department License Division at (804) 646-5690 for more information on applying for a license. Once the license has been issued, call the Department of Public Health at (804) 646-3120 for information on securing a health permit in order to operate the business.

Food Vouchers (for Women, Infants and Children)
Through the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) participants are issued vouchers to buy specific foods that promote the health and growth of children up to age five.
