Health District
The Richmond City Health District is located at 401 East Main Street, Richmond, Virginia 23219. Some of the department's responsibilities include ensuring clean air and water, inspecting restaurants for cleanliness, halting the spread of infectious disease, promoting the advantages of healthy lifestyles, reducing infant mortality, preventing lead poisoning, and curbing teen pregnancy and STDs.

Historic Preservations
The 2700 properties within the City's designated Old and Historic Districts fall under the jurisdiction of the City's Commission of Architectural Review which approves all exterior changes to these properties. Commission staff can be reached at (804) 646-7550.

Homework Centers
The Richmond Public Libraries' Homework Centers are open during the school year, Mondays through Thursdays, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. There are teachers on location and computers available at each branch site (except Bon Air). For more information, please call (804) 646-4256

Human Resources
The Department of Human Resources is located in Room 902, City Hall, 900 East Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia 23219. The department is responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, employee relations, training and organizational development, compensation and benefits, policy development and interpretation for the City. The department also provides external services including distributing employment opportunities bulletins, training in job seeking skills, and conducting job fairs. Job Opportunities are updated and posted weekly on the City's Website and at City Hall.
