Message from the Sheriff
We welcome in 2016 with a renewed sense of commitment and purpose to serving the citizens of Richmond. Our ongoing mission is to ensure the safety and security of our court facilities and the Richmond City Justice Center. In doing this, we strive to continuously improve our operational and organizational processes and procedures to ensure we meet the highest standards in the state.
This endeavor allows us to engage our public safety partners, key stakeholders and city and state officials in identifying budgetary requirements, best practices and current trends, and opportunities to dialogue with you, the public at large. We invite you to share your feedback on how we are doing and to feel comfortable sharing advice and opinions.
A strong component of public safety is to provide as much assistance to the offender population while they are here in the Justice Center. We have a strong Programs Department that is engaging our population in education, rehabilitation, employment and housing opportunities that will assist that transition back into the community. We remain excited about the opportunities to make a lasting difference in the community and lives of Richmond citizens.
God Bless and Thank You for the opportunity to serve!
