Barksdale Theatre

Carpenter Center for Performing Arts
Located at Sixth and Grace Streets, the Carpenter Center is usually where you'll find national touring companies when they are in town. Each season brings about 15 road shows to Richmond. Offerings in recent years have included Evita, Annie, Gypsy, Robert Morse in his one-man play about Truman Capote called Tru, Les Miserables and Stomp. Most road shows are marketed and announced singly except for the "Broadway Under the Stars" series that has included Funny Girl, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Man of La Mancha, West Side Story and Singing in the Rain. Photo: Dogwood Dell Performance of Dream Girls Located in Byrd Park, Dogwood Dell is a 2,400 seat amphitheatre owned and operated by the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities. Since 1956, it has been home to the Festival of Arts; a summer-long celebration of the arts featuring art exhibits, concerts, dance and theatre. Elegba Folklore Society, Inc.

Hand Workshop Art Center
Located at 1812 West Main Street, the Hand Workshop is a nonprofit center for the visual arts. Since 1962 it has offered art classes for children, teenagers and adults and art exhibitions by prominent regional and national artists. Classes and workshops cover a wide spectrum from pottery and metalworking to printmaking and sculpture.

Landmark Theater

The Landmark also ranks among the City's most popular stages for theatrical and musical performances. Some of America's greatest entertainers have appeared on stage beneath its towering minarets and desert murals. The theatre has the largest proscenium stage on the East Coast. Know for its excellent acoustics, the Landmark has seating for over 3,500. Additionally, the ballroom is host of numerous gala affairs and has a capacity of 1,400. Latin Ballet of Virginia
The Latin Ballet of Virginia is the area's preeminent Hispanic-American Dance Company. The dancers incorporate flamenco, classical Spanish, traditional Latin American and Caribbean dances with ballet, modern and jazz dance techniques. Mystery Dinner Playhouse
Located at 9826 Midlothian Turnpike in the Best Western Governors Inn, The Mystery Dinner Playhouse is Richmond's murder-mystery dinner theater. Audience members solve a comedy murder mystery while enjoying a delicious four-course dinner. Richmond Boys Choir
Founded in 1996, a collaborative project of Theatre IV and the Boys and Girls Club of Richmond, the independent, not-for-profit organization has grown in number from 20 to over 80 voices strong and is viewed within the community as one of Richmond's premier performing arts organizations.
